The third installment of Sunnyside Cemetery Cinema’s Summer screenings offered up nards, picnics and a monster kid classic. After Hours Print Club was on hand making shirts to order, DJs Quatre Cinq and Greenfuzz were spinning the likes of The Cramps and The Misfits before the show, Bat In Your Belfry was slangin’ spooky art and food trucks and kettle corn were nestled in amongst the gravestones. The movie of course is iconic and classic, and the best part about watching it with fellow fans is the cheering at key moments, “I’m in the goddamn club, aren’t I?” *crowd goes wild*
Festival Obscura is kicking some serious ass with their events, raising $42k for the cemetery with their ingenious inaugural craft beer festival back in June. These screenings serve as fundraisers for the non-profit cemetery, and there are three more planned for the season. Grab your tickets at the Festival Obscura website.
