HorrorGirl Happenings March 18th-24th: Critters, Us, The Act, Bill + Ted 3, y Mas

The most exciting things happening in horror this week (according to one very specific HorrorGirl):

Viddy This:

Here’s everything below, in video form. Like an audio book. But with my face.

Are you a good witch or a bad witch? The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 2 is just around the corner, and Netflix has released the trailer. Get ready to binge, April 5th.

Speaking of binging… Critters: A New Binge hits Shudder March 21st. Eight episodes, written and executive produced by the team behind Zombeavers. Which is probably my second favorite movie to make my friends watch in a cabin. To be honest, this reboot looks kind of terrible, but sometimes those are pretty fuckin’ fun so I’m looking forward to checking this out. Would really love for it to be awesome, or at the very least… awesomely bad as opposed to just flat out bad.

Jordan Peele’s much anticipated follow up to Get Out gets its wide release this Friday, which actually means you can catch it @7pm Thursday night. Which is a sweet bonus for me because if I don’t see it Thursday, I’ll have to avoid spoilers like the plague until at least Tuesday.

What are your Fourth of July plans? Netflix just dropped the Stranger Things Season 3 trailer, and I might have to barbecue and binge this year.

Countdown to The Last Drive In w/ Joe Bob March 29th 9pm on Shudder. Losing my mind a little on this, I won’t get to watch live but really looking forward to it anyhow!
If you’re not already a Shudder subscriber, you should probably just go ahead and do that right now.

The-Last-Drive-In

Orion just announced Bill + Ted 3 in the works, slated for an August 2020 release! The Wild Stallions themselves deliver the news from the Hollywood Bowl. Be excellent.

The Act premieres on Hulu today. Initially thought this was a movie version of the Gypsy Rose story, but it looks like this is actually going to be an anthology series à la American Horror Story/American Crime Story, with each season following a new “stranger-than-fiction” true crime story. This story is horrific in so many ways, check out the trailer below. Or, if you don’t know anything about this case, maybe skip the trailer and just watch the show, because there are so many twists and mind boggling turns.

Win Cool Shit:

In honor of Chopping Mall’s 33rd anniversary on March 21st, everybody’s favorite fright rag resurrected from the dead, Fangoria is running a cool contest. The rules are simple, take a selfie with a copy of Chopping Mall, whilst you yourself are actually physically in a mall. Post and tag the photo with #ChoppingMallInAMall
The prize? An additional issue in your subscription.
You have one more day to get your entries in, so get to it!
