Labor Day digs a traditional grave to lay sunshine and beach frolics to rest as our Summer of Screams comes to an end. August offerings provided an appetizer, if you will, for the real meat of the year. September 23rd is the Fall equinox and the fact that the calendar reads “September” at all heralds Autumn in the midst of these hellish temps. Beyond Fest – September 25th-October 8th. This. Lineup. Is. Stackkkkkked. They jokingly told me to camp out under the screen with a promise of leaving the popcorn machine on overnight so I’m fed. Don’t threaten me with a good time! I don’t know how I’m going to choose which screenings to attend, I don’t know if it’s inhumanly possible to attend them all, so my heart will undoubtedly break multiple times over the course of those two weeks. Though you’re not really ever in danger of getting lost, you do wind about in a maze-like fashion, guided by walls that lead you down a narrow path. This one is different. Billed as a free roaming scavenger hunt, this haunt opens October 4’th.
